Lisa Hoyt is a graduate assistant at West Virginia University. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in bassoon performance, studying with Terry Ewell. She is a member of the WVU Graduate Woodwind Quintet and the WVU Symphony Orchestra. She is also a graduate research assistant to Terry Ewell for The Bassoon Family Fingering Companion database.
Lisa graduated Magna cum laude from The Crane School of Music, State University of New York, College at Potsdam, with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. She studied bassoon with Frank Wangler. She was a member of the Crane Wind Ensemble during it's summer 1993 tour of Germany and, as a member of a Crane Student Woodwind Quintet coached by Alan Woy, was a finalist in the 1995 Coleman Chamber Music Competition in Pasadena, California.
She has also studied bassoon with Kim Wangler (summers 1988-1991) and Mark Gigliotti (summer 1994).
