"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." - Anais Nin
This recital presents five new pieces by diverse contemporary composers and compositional styles, unified by the theme of life, uncertainty, and utopias. Those five pieces are world premieres, two of them commissioned/dedicated to Lia Uribe. These pieces will be part of a recording project that will be finished in the Fall of 2021 at the Banff Centre for the Arts, supported by an Artist360 grant (Walton Family Foundation and Mid-America Arts Alliance) received by Lia Uribe in 2019. There projected multimedia animation for two of the pieces has been created for the occasion by filmmaker Lisa Marie Evans.
