Diaine Boyd Schultz, flute; Mary Lindsey Bailey, oboe; Osiris J. Molina, clarinet
This recital presents newly-commissioned music for flute, oboe, and clarinet by the Vuorovesi Trio, comprised of University of Alabama School of Music faculty members Diane Boyd Schultz (flute), Mary Lindsey Bailey (oboe), and Osiris J. Molina (clarinet). The program consists of two works commissioned in 2019 from American composers Joseph Landers and Stephen Lias. Landers's piece consists of six short movements focused on timbre changes. Lias's piece is a vivacious work inspired by major experiments at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research.
