Never one to shy away from a challenge, bassoonist Robyn Watson has taken on the non-enviable task of learning French flute masterworks on the bassoon. For this performance, she has chosen to share both Cécile Chaminade’s monumental Concertino, as well as Benjamin Godard’s Suite de Trois Morceaux. In preparation, Robyn has had lessons with many flute teachers so as to ensure her interpretations still maintains the “flutey” quality they deserves. T.D. Ellis Music Publishing has made available Ms. Watson’s arrangement of the Chaminade, and Robyn is actively working to have the Godard available by conference time, or soon thereafter.
