A brief history of interactive electroacoustic music for bassoon is presented. Issues of performance practice, including hardware and software, are discussed. Suggestions for including this music into the undergraduate curriculum are given. An extensive annotated bibliography of the literature is given, including pieces that are now obsolete or have incomplete information.
