Description:GD reed from May, 1975, used to play first on Pops job then and long after. It was placed on the tip a couple mm out toward the tip and was small where it fits on the crook and flat at first, hard to finish. Its strong, pleasant sound encouraged me to persist, and the effort was well worthwhile. It was made with long soaking and string wrapping for forming. As it is now it was also shrunk with nylon to stiffen it when it began to weaken (around 1980). It is an excellent model, but don't make the back too thin (start about .035).
