Dorothy Nielsen Conference Sponsorship

Dorothy Nielsen Conference Sponsorship ~ 2022 Boulder, Colorado

Edmund and Dorothy Nielsen started Edmund Nielsen Woodwinds in 1949. Ed did the repair work and sales of instruments and Dorothy did the secretarial, accounting and customs work. When Ed died in 1981, Dorothy closed the repair department and just did the accessory business. She continued working part time into her 80’s. IDRS was important to both of them. They, along with others, prepaid their dues to get and keep it going in the early years. They especially felt it was important to get young people involved. When our mother died this fall, we felt that scholarships in her name was the perfect way to honor her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations were accepted on behalf of long standing IDRS member, Dorothy Nielsen, to provide conference sponsorships to our upcoming conference.
