IDRS is seeking self-nominations of members who are interested in being considered for one of three positions on the Nominating Committee, a committee charged with selecting the slate of nominees for vacant positions (one candidate per position) on the 2025 IDRS Board of Directors to be voted on and conferred by the IDRS membership.
The six member Nominating Committee established this year will review all nominations for the following IDRS Board Directors: Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer (each starting a three year term in Jan 2025). The Nominating Committee will also be responsible for compiling the full slate of the new Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer nominees (one person per position).
Three IDRS members will be elected to join the appointed Nominating Committee members, as designated in the Code of Regulations and described below. The work of this Nominating Committee will mainly occur in October 2024. The nominees for Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will then be presented to the membership for confirmation in a ballot in November.
Self-nominations to serve on the Nominating Committee must be received by September 20, 2024. Any IDRS member who has already served as a Nominating Committee member or is interested in being considered for one of the above mentioned open positions on the Board of Directors (starting a three year term in Jan 2025) should not fill out this form.
Code of Regulations: Section 5a. Nominating Committee (2022 and beyond). A nominating committee of six members will be assembled to facilitate and implement the election process. The committee will be charged with recruiting and evaluating candidates for all open board positions. The committee will include: Immediate Past President (chair), President, Chair of the Diversity Equity & Inclusion Committee, and three outside members to be elected by the membership. The nominating committee will nominate the slate of candidates to replace those directors whose terms are set to expire. It is expected the Vice President will become the nominee for President during the nomination process in their final year as Vice President.
TIMELINE:
- Nominations for Nominating Committee members to be submitted by September 20.
- Nominations for Officers (Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) to be submitted by October 1
- Elections for the Nominating Committee members September 23 – October 1
- Nominating Committee reviews and compiles slate of Officers October 1 – November 1
- Elections for Officers (Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer): November 1-10
- Announcement of new Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer: November 15
